Social Bebe!

First off, I only have a few new photos to share. :( I always have my camera, but I think I get caught up in the moments that I forget to actually take pictures. However, isn't this how life should be? I guess it just means I am enjoying things so much that I honestly forget to take the photos. I will try to be better about capturing the actual moments as well. We did have some professional photos taken of Holden with the very talented Lisa Tosi (lisatosi.com) She is awesome and I swear is the baby whisperer. Holden was great during the photo shoot and I cannot wait to see the results. I will post the link for you all to see once we get it.

Other than that we have had a busy couple of weeks. We are convinced that we produced a very social baby. He just really seems to love people and being out and about. I took him to Yuba City a couple of weeks ago to visit my co workers and he loved it. He actually fell asleep in my boss's arms, Elizabeth, during lunch. It was very sweet. We also went to his cousin Sean's birthday party at Chuckee Cheese. Wow. I had visions of my life over the next few years. Talk about overstimulating. I walked past all the people we knew because it was so chaotic. Holden fell asleep in Grandma's arms. We then went out to lunch with Grandma and Great Grandma after. He is such a trooper. I think he will know a lot about the way women operate from all of his lunching with the ladies as an infant. Some of that has to bore into the self-conscious, right?

This past Sunday we went to the Christmas Preview downtown with Sara and Logan. I bundled Holden up in the Baby Bjorn front carrier and off we went. He absolutely loved it and looked just adorable. He was checking out the people and lights. He fell asleep during that too: With a live band going and hundreds of people milling around him. He also got to see daddy, who was helping a line of kids check out the fire engine. Next year maybe he will get to cut in that line and get in there himself. ;) He was definitely a showstopper as many people stopped to comment on how cute he is. We think so too...

Overall, it has just been an absolute joy getting to know this little guy. I call him my little buddy. He is so much fun.
Here are some of his milestones:
-He is already holding his head up (has been for quite some time)
-He is almost sitting up on his own
-He smiles and cooes in response to us (daddy got the first one of those)
-Basically sleeping through the night (a minimum of 5 hours. Last night -- 7!)

Things he likes:
-LOVES to hang his head upside down or over your arm.
-People
-Being walked around
-Being outside. Loves to go on walks.
-Continues to LOVE the bath
-He is starting to really snuggle. He will hold onto you as he falls asleep in your arms. It is precious

Again. He is just a joy. I love every single second of it. I am pretty sure his dad does too. They are buddies. Sometimes he will be fussy and then his dad walks in the door and he just stares at him and smiles. It is the sweetest thing.

AND...now we are going into our first holidays with a baby. It is exciting....
More to come.

The Quest to 10 LBS

First of all, I should be sleeping, but have a bout of insomnia all of the sudden. Plus...it seems like this is the best time to do this as I have a large chunk of time to upload and blog. :)
Holden is doing really well. He continues to gain, gain, gain weight. It is quite amazing. He did catch a little cold last week and Mommy learned all about the snot sucker. That thing is interesting and kinda scary to say the least. He hated it. He is feeling much better now. We are so lucky that he has such a great temperament, as the only thing I noticed differently while he was sick was that he was a little more needy and wanted to be close to us ALL of the time. Which is normal! Who doesn't want to cuddle when they are feeling ill?

He is doing awesome on sleep, unlike his mother. ha! We only have to get up once during the night now. He sleeps for about 5 hours, has a quick feeding and goes back to sleep until morning. It is incredible!

His personality and temperament have not changed much. He is still such a joy and a rather "easy" baby. Although, he is making his presence known more. He is really impatient when he wants to eat. He is also increasingly more and more alert and wanting to stay up. During the evening he appears to be fighting sleep and will get a little fussy. Jesse often has the magic touch to calm him and get him to take a little nap. The other night it took him 8 minutes to get him to sleep. It was impressive. We actually enjoy that he is staying up more. Another thing he really likes is going on walks in his stroller. We have only taken a few in the stroller of all strollers, The Bob, but every time, Holden loves it. He basks in the sun. We took a walk on the most beautiful day this week and you could tell he enjoyed it.

Now..onto what you people really want....pictures! Holden is just a growing machine. The last time he was officially weighed at the doctor, he weighed 8 pounds. I weighed him today and it was over 10! He is just doing so well and catching up! So the first picture up there, with his tiny democrat t shirt...:), is pretty close to what a ten pounder looks like!

A little fuzzy, but I like it. Look at those eyes!

ahhh...and the nake pictures begin!

I didn't have any pictures of him and his father, but when I look at this picture, I see his father. I think he may look like this when he sleeps too.

I had to capture him in the "Moby" wrap. He likes being in there!

Beautiful October

Every day Holden gets a little bigger. His face is starting to fill out and he actually has some rolls. :)
He just past his original due date this week, so I imagine this is more of what he would look like had he made it full term! He is just a doll. He is also establishing more of a personality and I found one trait of mine that he has: Impatience! I love it. He gets so mad when I am too slow for him.

He likes to hold my hand. :)

HE loves his hands OUT and about. He hates them confined. He his kind of like Houdini: He can get out of that straightjacket like swaddle in NO time...no matter how tight we get it.

Double nap time.

Yes, mommy does love you.

He looks super good in red! So handsome.

Out and About

Holden and I made our first venture out (alone, without daddy) today. We met up with Grandma Nancy and Aunty Erin for lunch. It was a beautiful fall day and we were able to sit outside and bask in the October Sun. Holden even took a nap on his grandma.

After we returned home we had a surprise visit from my good friend Helen and her sister Leslie. We all headed out for some shopping at Target and Costco.

This whole day may sound mundane to many of you, however this is the most excitement I've had in awhile! It also helped boost my confidence level that I can get out with him! I am not confined to the house!

The most hilarious thing is the preparation for all of this -- I thought I was good and ready to go a 1/2 an hour prior to departure time and the little woke up and wanted to be fed. He also had puked all over his cute outfit and then had explosive pooping. So I fed him and changed his clothes and then had to change my clothes because remnants of puke had gotten on me. (I swear ALL of my puking during the pregnancy was in prep of all of his puking. Puke NO longer phases me). None of it bothered me, it was just rather comical that these things happen to me, as I like things to go smoothly.

The day was a lot for Mr. Holden too. However, he was a champion and did not fuss once. He was also super alert for the girls. He is really starting to like people and want to stay up when they are around. However, once we were home for good, he was like velcro to me. He did not want me to put him down and just burrowed in. These moments truly define what love is.

Photos

Oh sooooo serious.

I'm awake...but

FEED ME Mom. :)

love.

A little smile? Or Gas? ha! In his cute little outfit that came all the way from North Carolina from Uncle Kevin and Aunt Amy.

Holden and Daddy. That is his favorite spot.

Holden's first picture in the hospital. 4 pounds 4 ounces; 19 inches long.
Holden Michael Campos was born on September 10, 2008 at 5:55 PM. As he was 6 weeks early, he only weighed 4 pounds 4 ounces and was in the NICU for 2 weeks until Mommy and Daddy got to take him home. Now he is a feeding machine and over 6 pounds!

Currently our days consist of eating and sleeping.

Holden is a very sweet baby with a mellow disposition. His current loves are: cuddling, bath time and being rocked in his little cocoon sleeper. He looks a lot like his father. Mommy checks him out every day trying to find a trait that resembles her....so far she has only come up with her toes.

We will try and keep the blog updated with photos and progress, as so many of you have been so supportive in Holden's entrance into this world......

xoxo.
